Sometimes the painting will evolve into someplace you may recognize. Other times the abstract becomes the statement, who knows! To me, process of creating is as equally satisfying as the finished painting.

Artist Statement
I love hiking near creeks and streams. The sound of the water tumbling over rocks, the reflections of the trees and sky, and the changing light filtered by clouds touches my soul. Many of my paintings embody my love of nature.
Whether I am working plein air with pastels or in my studio painting large canvases in oil, I start with an abstract of shapes and colors. I paint loose, capturing a feeling rather than rendering detail.
